The Edge of Seventeen

A great story about the troubles of puberty and the struggles of life growing up as a teenager, Halee Steinfield was outstanding in her portrayal of a self absorbed disgruntled teen. Woody Harrelson was also great as a school councilor. The Edge of seventeen really proved to be a beautifully shot story of a young woman's dramatic life growing up.

Passengers

Passengers was a little bit castaway and a little bit of space adventure all wrapped into one, it follows the story of Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) aboard an spaceship destined for earth two. Jim Preston wakes up early from hibernation to find out he has woken up 90 years too early, waking up his companion Aurora is a tough choice to make, knowing she too will be subjected to his fate of being the few passengers awake among a sleeping cargo. A great twist on a very typical Sci-Fi tale.

Moana

Moana was a really amazing visually stunning movie, the technology and artistry that goes on at Disney is really world class, much like it's Japanese counter-parts. The jokes and story were really fantastic. This was well worth watching.

La La Land

A jazz pianist falls for an aspiring actress in Los Angeles.

La La Land was a brilliant musical with much sparkle that hollywood is known for. It really impressed me with it's great music,beautiful cinematography and  outstanding choreography.

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone really made great work of this one and added to the experience, overall this was fantastic watching.

Two high school kids who've never met - city boy Taki and country girl Mitsuha - are united through their dreams.

I don't really watch many Japanese films but I always love them. This was no different, the story and art were both beautiful and moving. The contrast of country and city life was really close to home for me. The love shared between the main characters felt so real.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue one was a very standout Star Wars film, a brilliant take on the Franchise's reputation for stellar movies.
